Public policy decisions need to be based on a clear understanding of what is going on at the local level. Even more than that, public policy should be designed to empower local actors and provide them with the tools to address public challenges.
Implementing methodologies for shared learning and decision-making is about making sure that the right conversations are being held. It is about letting divergences and trade-offs emerge. It is about making everyone comfortable with disagreeing before an agreement can be found.

I am supporting the Catalan government in the design of the Entrepreneurial Discovery Process for the Smart Specialisation Strategy 2021-2027.
On the 27th of November I will be giving a Seminar to the MSc Students at the London School of Economics on how to engage stakeholders in the regional development process.
On the 2nd and 3rd of December I will be taking part to the Peer Review of the region of Centro (Portugal) within the INTERREG Project Improve. More information
